 Third Annual Fundraiser & Seminar

Sensei Lim and Mr. Dan Monges demonstrating Aikido
Feb 21, 2009 marked the third fundraiser for the Charlottesville Yoseikan. Over 30 members of the dojo attended along with former karate-ka, Tia Little (who is now attending medical school) and several other guest participants. The fundraisers are held to raise monies to assist families with travel to our National Clinics and Black Belt testing as well as providing goods for the dojo.

Scott Lim, Sensei was back with his senior student, Dan Monges and the two were "better then ever". We have had the pleasure of having Sensei Lim and Mr. Monges attend as both budo-ka and instructor for all three seminars. Lim Sensei has a world of knowledge to offer in the discipline of Aiki-do, but moreover, brings to our dojo the true spirit of Bushido.

All the participants, with the instructors in the center standing.
Ms Carol Brown offered her talents in the art of yoga. A senior instructor and certified in Sivanada yoga, she gave us the blend of several styles which she offers on a weekly basis at the Greenwood Community Center.

Dr. Brad Bennett gave a truly inspiring class in both the movements and background of Tai chi. It was a real fortification of the ties that our karate-do have with this ancient Chinese martial art. He also offers class at the Greenwood Community center.

A big thank you to all who attended and especially to Mr. Monges, Sensei Lim, Dr. Bennett, and Ms. Brown.
